Ministry

YOUTH GROUP

St. Matthew Youth Group consists of a number of volunteers and parents working with children between the ages of 5 and 13 years old.  The children are encouraged to serve the greater St. Louis community through scheduled events and activities.  They are invited to participate in large and small group settings to develop their communication skills and learn to deal with conflict resolution through faith-based principles.  The overall goal is to prepare the youth to become productive citizens of the next generation.

ALUMNI GROUP

St. Matthew Lutheran School was established with the intention of teaching the children about the Love of Jesus; however, in 2016 we had to close our school.  The Alumni of St. Matthew School, which spans over many generations, is still today committed to carrying out the mission of the school through various activities and events.  Jesus stated to his disciples, "Let the children come to him."

LWML

The Lutheran Women's Missionary League is an official auxiliary of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.  Since 1942, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman's relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions.

FOOD AND CLOTHING PANTRY

St. Matthew Lutheran Church Food and clothing Pantry is a ministry of the church to assist those in need.  The mission was given to the church from Christ to his disciples, "If you love me, then feed my sheep and care for them."  St. Matthew has been caring and feeding God's children and families for over 100 years with the generous donations and gifts of other churches and organizations.

Our Pantry is open the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month (9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.)

LERT

St. Matthew Lutheran Church partners in the ministry of the Lutheran Early Response Team (LERT) which is a network of Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) volunteers who are organized at the district level and trained to deploy rapidly in the event of a disaster, offering material and spiritual support to those who have been affected.
